This one rock shows a variety of compositions: (A) freshly-exposed foraminiferan limestone; (B) older foraminiferan limestone exposure with iron-oxide crust; (C) Mn-phosphorite crust on foraminiferan limestone; and (D) foraminiferan mud (called "ooze") sediment that had recently settled onto the rock surface.
