  • Laterally compressed, disk-shaped body with a relatively blunt snout
  • Found in both inshore and coastal waters, often around obstructions
  • Adults often seen in large schools, along edges of drop-offs
  • 3-7 somewhat irregular, bold, black vertical bands, which may fade with age
  • Feed on jellyfish and other invertebrate.
