Fossil-rich
biogenic sediments were collected by Project Oceanica on each
of two Islands in the Stream 2001 cruises. Photographs of the
coarse rubble material and sand-size fraction material collected
at the Charleston Bump are shown as an example of the material. These rocks
provide the foundation for the hardground deep reef communities.
