What is your major? Marine Biology

How did you become interested in this major or field? I have always been interested in science and having always lived along some coast choosing marine biology as a major was a given.

Where do you see yourself five years from now? Probably stll in school! After I receive my undergraduate degree I plan on attending graduate school. Ideally I would like to work in the field, hopefully making some sort of a difference in terms of conservation, preservation or restoration.

What part of the research on this trip has interested you the most? Everything is interesting from learning how to deploy equipment and process samples to identifying the organisms that are collected. But I have to admit that the echinoderms, bryozoans, and molluscs (amongst other inverts) that have been collected are the coolest!

What part of the research has interested you the least? Honestly, I really didn't think about collecting things and killing them. Other collecting trips I have participated in have always returned the organisms back to where they came from . It is really hard to admire a crab and then drop it in ethanol.

Did you get sea sick on this trip? Yep! Luckily only for the first day.
