Dorsal (left) and ventral views: Arms are approximately 11 cm in length.
This species has dark bands of either brown or orange on its dorsal side.




Note the long, orange tube feet (left), the short, rigid spines on the dorsal side (right),
and the fringe of white marginal spines .




Detail of the mouth and 5 jaws (left). The tube feet (right) are unusually long, with bright orange tips.




The seastar's body sits atop the rapidly moving, elongate tube feet.
This specimen has the orange coloration.
